Cookie Policy
The cookies and local storage used on phoaly.com, and how to control them.
What this policy covers
This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies used on phoaly.com. The Phoaly app itself does not use cookies and has no telemetry; its network behavior is described in the Privacy Policy.
Cookies and local storage
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. Local storage works in a similar way, but the data is not sent with every request. Both can remember a preference or keep a session together.
What we use
| Category | Name / provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | __cf_bm (Cloudflare) | Distinguishes human visitors from automated traffic and protects the site | 30 minutes |
| Strictly necessary | Stripe checkout cookies | Set only on checkout.stripe.com during payment | Per Stripe's policy |
| Functional | PARAGLIDE_LOCALE | Remembers your language | 400 days |
| Functional | theme (local storage) | Remembers light or dark appearance | Until cleared |
| Functional | Crisp session identifiers | Keeps a chat conversation across pages | Up to 6 months |
| Analytics | _ga, _ga_* (Google Analytics 4) | Distinguishes visitors and aggregates page usage | Up to 2 years |
| Analytics | _clck, _clsk, MUID (Microsoft Clarity) | Heatmaps and sampled session replays | 1 year / 1 day / 13 months |
| Analytics | Umami | Aggregate page views; no advertising cookies | Anonymous session identifier may be kept in local storage |
| Analytics | Plausible | Aggregate page views; no cookies | Not applicable |
We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not sell personal data.
Third-party content
- Stripe. Choosing a plan opens a checkout page hosted by Stripe. Stripe sets the cookies it needs for payment on its own domain and processes data under its privacy policy.
- Crisp. When live chat is enabled, the chat widget loads with the page and stores a session identifier. You can block it with your browser or an extension; the rest of the site keeps working.
- Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity. These tools may set the cookies listed above and process data under their own policies.
Managing cookies
Most browsers let you view, delete, and block cookies:
- use the privacy or site-data settings in your browser;
- use a private window, which clears session data when you close it;
- use an extension that blocks analytics scripts.
Blocking strictly necessary cookies can break checkout. Clearing functional cookies resets your language and appearance preferences. Blocking the chat widget removes live chat.
To opt out of a specific tool:
- Google Analytics — install Google's official opt-out browser add-on.
- Microsoft Clarity — use the opt-out controls Microsoft provides, or
block requests to
clarity.ms. - Umami and Plausible — they do not use advertising cookies; blocking their scripts stops the measurement.
- Crisp — block requests to
crisp.chat.
Do Not Track
Some browsers send a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal. We do not currently respond to those signals automatically; use the controls above.
Changes
We may update this policy and will post the new version with a new date on this page.
